Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
The short version
You pay once, you get a license to use CashPad for as long as you want. We don't store your data, we don't charge you again, and updates are free. The software is provided as-is. If you want a refund within 14 days and the software doesn't work as described, ask and we'll sort it out.
1. Who these terms apply to
These Terms of Service govern your purchase and use of CashPad ("the Software"), developed and sold by Jim Carlisle ("we," "us," "our"). By purchasing or using CashPad, you agree to these Terms.
2. License
When you purchase CashPad, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Software on your own devices for personal budgeting purposes.
You may not resell, sublicense, redistribute, or reverse engineer the Software for the purpose of creating a competing product. You may use the Software on multiple devices you personally own and make backup copies of your data using the built-in export function.
3. One-time purchase
CashPad is sold as a one-time purchase. There is no subscription. You will not be charged again after your initial purchase. Product updates are included at no additional cost for the lifetime of the product.
4. Payment and delivery
Purchases are processed by Gumroad. Upon successful payment, you will receive access to CashPad via the URL delivered to your email address. If you do not receive your access link within one hour of purchase, contact support@cashpadapp.com.
5. Refund policy
If CashPad does not function as described on the product page and we are unable to resolve the issue within 14 days of your purchase, we will refund you in full. To request a refund, contact support@cashpadapp.com within 14 days of purchase with a description of the problem.
We do not offer refunds for change of mind, incompatibility with unsupported browsers, or loss of data due to clearing browser storage.
6. Your data
CashPad stores all budget data locally on your device. We do not have access to your budget data. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups using the Software's export function. We are not responsible for data loss resulting from clearing browser storage, browser updates, or device failure.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The Software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. CashPad is a planning tool. It does not provide financial advice. Any financial decisions you make based on information displayed in CashPad are your own responsibility.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Software shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Software.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the Software after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict of law principles.
